Get to Know Dr. Shahrdad Kazerani
Dr. Kazerani has always been drawn to work that blends scientific precision with hands-on care, and this interest was shaped in part by growing up in the Bay Area within a family of dentists. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry from San Jose State University before continuing his education at Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary, where he earned his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree, graduating 6th in his class and receiving 1st place honors for his research at the Student Scientific Association Competition.
He then pursued a Master of Science in Periodontics & Implant Surgery at the University of Detroit Mercy, where he also became a board-certified, active member and Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology through the American Academy of Periodontology. During this time, he served as an instructor in the school's Undergraduate Periodontics Clinic and has contributed several publications to leading periodontology journals.
Previously, Dr. Kazerani also built a thriving periodontal practice in Michigan, where he placed more than a thousand dental implants before recently relocating back to the Bay Area. He's committed to ongoing education, regularly attending continuing education courses to stay current on the latest techniques, materials, and technology. He's also passionate about community service and has volunteered his dental skills in underserved communities abroad.
